What are Federal Programs?
Federal Programs are defined as any federal program, project, service, and activity provided by the federal government that directly assists or benefits the American public. This includes education. The federal funds received in the Coosa County School System include:
Title I part A - Financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. Central Elementary and Central Middle Schools both are eligible to receive funding from these federal funds.Title II - These federal funds are used to prepare, train, and recruit high quality teachers and principals. All schools in the system are eligible to receive funding from these federal funds.
Title VI part B - Rural and Low-Income School Program (RLISP), provides discretionary funds to meet the needs of rural, low-income schools. All schools in the system are eligible to receive funding from these federal funds.

American Rescue Plan ARP ESSER-Final
The ARP ESSER (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund) is also a part of the CARES Act. It provides emergency funding to support K-12 schools and their students who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ESSER II (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund) is also a part of the CARES Act. It provides emergency funding to support K-12 schools and their students who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

American Rescue Plan-ESSER I Final
The Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund is part of the CARES Act. ESSER I provides funding to states and school districts to help address the impact of COVID-19 on K-12 education. The funds can be used for various purposes, such as purchasing technology for remote learning, providing mental health services to students, and implementing safety protocols for in-person instruction.

American Rescue Plan GEER Fund-Final
The CARES Act provides for the GEERS (Governor's Emergency Education Relief Fund) program, which provides emergency support to institutions of higher education and their students who the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted.
